Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has thrown the door open to a possible career in politics, saying he would accept an offer to serve as Kennedy Agyapong’s running mate.
The artiste made the disclosure during a TikTok Live session, where he spoke about his willingness to work with political leaders and contribute his ideas to issues affecting Ghana’s youth.
Shatta Wale said he believes young people recognise qualities in him that political leaders may not necessarily see, arguing that he could bring a different perspective to governance.
“If Kennedy Agyapong calls me to be his running mate, it’s a good thing,” he said.
He suggested that his interest in politics is largely tied to the opportunity to influence decisions and policies that directly affect the younger generation.
“I wonder if they see the qualities that you, the youth, see in me. I feel like we are in a world where the youth are seeing what they want, and the people who can lead them,” Shatta Wale further stated.
Beyond Kennedy Agyapong, the musician said he would be prepared to engage with any political party that wants to tap into his ideas on how to address the concerns of young people.
“Any political party that calls me to help them so they can see how to manage the youth, I have ideas to give them,” he stated.
Shatta Wale also disclosed that he has already had conversations with some politicians about ideas he believes could improve opportunities for young people.
He maintained that, given the right platform, he could contribute to the development of policies focused on youth empowerment and development.
