Most People Now Attend Shows to Hunt for Faults – Gyakie Claims

Ghanaian singer Gyakie has voiced her frustration over what she describes as a growing culture of fault-finding at live events, lamenting that concerts are losing their spirit of enjoyment.

The ‘Forever’ singer, who was speaking on Hitz FM, stated that instead of immersing themselves in the music, many audience members now attend shows with the aim of capturing mistakes and spreading them online.

“Most people don’t even go to shows to enjoy it anymore, they go there to find breaking news. They go there to see who fell, and they go there to find who missed the key. The motive is moving away from enjoying life and accepting that we are all humans and people make mistakes and it’s more I’m going there to make sure I get some bad news and then come and post it up and be trending. Things are not fun anymore, people are being too careful with everything,” Gyakie said.

While acknowledging that critique is an unavoidable part of an artist’s career, she argued that it has intensified in ways that are unfair and sometimes deliberately cruel.

“Nobody is far from criticism but it is becoming a bit too much. It’s like people even do it on purpose. You can go on the internet and somebody sets up a camera to dissect your entire life when they don’t know anything about you,” she added.

Gyakie observed that this trend has transformed live performances into moments of tension, stripping them of the joy and creative freedom they are meant to inspire.
