I Don’t Know Anyone Who Gives Like Daddy Lumba – Stacy Amoateng Recalls Late Musician’s Generosity

Stacy Amoateng and Daddy Lumba

Ghanaian television host Stacy Amoateng has opened up about a time when legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba completely changed her life through an act of unexpected generosity.

During a conversation on her show with Lumba’s manager, Roman Fadda, Stacy recounted how the musician’s kindness went far beyond what anyone anticipated, describing him as a man who gave from the heart without expecting recognition or reward.

She recalled that the gesture began casually when Lumba teased her about having little furniture in her house. What started as friendly banter soon turned into an unforgettable display of compassion.

According to Stacy, the singer personally took it upon himself to furnish her entire home, providing every necessity, from major pieces of furniture to simple kitchen items.

At the time, Lumba regularly imported goods from Germany and maintained a storeroom filled with items, which he used to set up her house. To crown his generosity, he handed her GH¢2,500, a considerable amount at the time.

“I don’t know anyone who gives like Daddy Lumba. When he decides to be generous, you’ll start wondering if he’s alright, he gives crazily when he wants to. And with him, you don’t coerce or ask; if he wants to do it, he will. He furnished every part of my house.

“I remember he once teased me that I didn’t even have furniture or a bed. It seemed like a joke, but he went ahead and gave me everything I needed, right down to cutlery. Back then, he used to import a lot from Germany and had plenty stored up. When he was done, he even gave me GH¢2,500,” Stacy Amoateng revealed.
