Aba Dope is again in the spotlight after openly stating that marriage has no place in her future plans, a revelation that has sparked conversations across social media.
The socialite and influencer shared her views during an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM. The host had asked whether attending a friend’s recent wedding stirred any interest in settling down.
According to Aba Dope, marriage is far from her priorities, and her position comes from a deeply painful experience she has carried for years. She recounted that a major heartbreak reshaped her understanding of love and long-term commitment.
She recalled dating a boy named Carl during her Senior High School days, a relationship she described as a childhood bond. Their romance continued when she entered Nursing Training College, and by her second year, she believed they were preparing for a shared future.
Her hopes collapsed after receiving a call from a Turkish woman who said she was in a serious relationship with Carl and claimed his entire family already knew her. That unexpected revelation, she said, broke her emotionally and ended her desire to ever pursue marriage.
Aba Dope stressed that the betrayal changed her completely, pushing her to guard herself from similar vulnerability.
When Nana Romeo asked why she chose to have a child despite rejecting marriage, Aba Dope responded calmly that it was a decision she made for herself. She explained that she felt she was maturing and simply wanted a child at this point in her life, not a husband.
