Ghanaian gospel singer Diana Hamilton has disclosed that her cheerful, talkative spirit is not just a personality trait but a force that drives her creativity, shapes her performances, and colours her interactions with fans and colleagues.
During a discussion with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, the ‘Adom’ singer reflected on how deeply her temperament influences her life.
She told listeners that she identifies strongly with the sanguine personality type, calling herself almost entirely shaped by it. Hamilton estimated that she is “about 90 percent” sanguine and joked that her natural ease with conversation stretches far beyond the ordinary. “I am your classic sanguine. I am a helpless sanguine, and I think I have a male side that helps me create. Maybe I am 90% sanguine, I can talk to a ghost unless I don’t want to talk to you. You know, sanguine, we talk. The sanguine are the life of the party,” she said.
The 46-year-old singer also revealed that her passion for communication once pulled her toward journalism. Before becoming a celebrated gospel artiste, she seriously imagined herself behind a news desk. “That is why I wanted to become a journalist, a newscaster; I was serious,” she added.
A sanguine temperament is typically described as warm, outgoing, and enthusiastic. People with this personality often bring energy into every room they enter and effortlessly initiate conversations. Their optimism and expressiveness tend to draw others in, making them natural connectors in social settings.
Diana Hamilton admitted that these qualities have blended seamlessly with her artistry, helping shape the upbeat, approachable public image her audience has come to appreciate.
