A viral video circulating across social media has ignited anger among Ghanaian users after it captured a young woman repeatedly striking a young man in the presence of several onlookers.
In the video, the woman appears visibly agitated as she slaps the man several times while clutching the front of his shirt. He remains restrained and unable to defend himself, and the men standing around them offer no help. Background voices can be heard discussing an alleged wrongdoing by the man, though what prompted the confrontation is still unclear.
The recording ended with the woman issuing a warning to the man she had assaulted. The bystanders, however, continue to watch without stepping in to stop the encounter.
Since the video surfaced, online users have expressed outrage, tagging the Ghana Police Service and demanding an investigation into everyone involved. While police have not yet commented, many Ghanaians on social platforms have condemned the behaviour.
The incident has also revived debates about how assaults involving male victims are handled, with concerns that violence against men receives far less attention than cases involving women.
