“The Body in Daddy Lumba’s Coffin Wasn’t Fake” – Faustina Fosu Rejects Toy Allegations

Rumours questioning the identity of Daddy Lumba’s remains have prompted a firm response from his family, with one of his sisters stepping forward to address the claims head-on.

Faustina Fosu, a sister of the late highlife great, has dismissed suggestions circulating on social media that the body laid in the musician’s coffin was not his. She said the claims were entirely fabricated and described them as misleading narratives with no factual basis.

Speaking to journalists on December 14, 2025, Fosu explained that she personally saw Daddy Lumba after his death and was certain about who was laid to rest.

“He’s the one and he was looking good when I saw him. People were alleging it was a toy that was in the coffin but it’s not true,” she said.

Beyond denying the rumors, she also shed light on why certain decisions were made during the funeral rites. According to her, Daddy Lumba had clearly communicated how he wanted his body handled long before his death.

“Daddy Lumba said it before he died that we shouldn’t reveal his face and he also didn’t want us to lay him in public,” Ernestina Fosu disclosed.

She noted that the family initially intended to strictly follow those wishes but felt compelled to adjust their plans after false claims began gaining traction online. Even then, she said, the family remained careful not to go against his instructions.

“People know how to fabricate lies, that’s why we decided to lay him in public so we covered his face was just to honor his wish,” Lumba’s sister further stated.
