Don’t Let Anybody Stress You – DKB Tells President Mahama About Solving Galamsey

Ghanaian comedian DKB

Comedian DKB has weighed in on the growing debate over illegal mining in Ghana, urging patience as pressure mounts on President John Dramani Mahama to act.

Speaking on UCook with Empress Gifty, in a segment shared on X on February 23, 2026, DKB argued that the president should not be rushed into addressing the galamsey crisis.

DKB traced the roots of the illegal mining problem to the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, asserting that the current president inherited the challenge.

“JM, don’t let anybody stress you. Solve the galamsey issue when you want, because you are not the one who started it. You are not the one who gave over 200 licenses to galamsey operators.

“You are not the one who passed the law allowing mining in forest reserves. It is evil. Nobody should put pressure on JM,” he said.

He added that any decision to declare a state of emergency should come at the president’s discretion.

“Those saying he should declare a state of emergency should back off,” DKB further stated.
