‘Stop Telling Everybody Your Plans’ – Sarkodie Advises Against Oversharing

Sarkodie

Sarkodie has called for greater discretion when it comes to discussing personal goals, warning that revealing plans too early can invite opinions, doubt and negativity before there is anything to show for them.

The famous Ghanaian artiste shared the advice in a Facebook post, encouraging people to spend less time announcing their next move and more time turning their ideas into reality.

For Sarkodie, not every ambition needs to be discussed publicly. He believes that constantly talking about future plans can create unnecessary pressure while giving others the opportunity to question or discourage ideas that are yet to take shape.

The rapper, who made history in 2019 as the first artiste to win the BET Award for Best International Flow, also cautioned that not everyone who listens to someone’s plans genuinely wants to see them succeed.

He argued that some people could respond to another person’s ambitions with jealousy or negativity, while others might even influence them to abandon their goals.

His message was therefore centered on keeping ambitions private until there is tangible progress to reveal. Rather than seeking validation through constant conversations about what they intend to achieve, Sarkodie encouraged his followers to concentrate on the work itself.

He urged people to make the calls, launch their businesses, begin their projects and take the steps needed to improve their lives without feeling the need to provide outsiders with regular updates.

Sarkodie wrote: “Stop telling everybody your damn plans. Every idea don’t need an announcement.
Every move doesn’t need a conversation. Every dream doesn’t need a committee.
You keep telling people, I’m about to do this…I’m finna start that… watch what I’m about to do…Then nothing happens. Now you looking crazy, and on top of that, you done gave everybody a chance to throw their doubt, jealousy, opinions, and negative energy all over something that wasn’t even built yet.”

He added, “Some people don’t want to see you win. Some people will laugh in your face and secretly hope it never works. Some people will talk you out of your own damn vision if you let them. So shut up and work. Move in silence. Make the calls. Build the business. Start the project. Make the money. Change your life.”

The rapper further stressed that success does not require people to reveal every stage of their journey, arguing that the outcome should eventually become the announcement.

Sarkodie concluded, “Let people find out when it’s already done.
You don’t owe anybody a preview of what God put in your spirit. Stop talking about what you’re gonna do and go do that ish. Results speak louder than plans ever will.”
