The next chapter of the Rapperholic Concert is set to unfold on a far bigger stage. Famous Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has announced that the internationally recognised show will move to London’s famed O2 Arena in 2027, marking a bold expansion for the brand.
The reveal came shortly after the rapper wrapped up a powerful performance at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London, where he entertained fans with a string of hit songs and high-energy moments. As the excitement from the concert lingered, Sarkodie shared news that his long-running Rapperholic event is now aiming for one of the world’s most prestigious music venues.
The announcement drew loud cheers from the crowd, many of whom had gathered to witness the Royal Albert Hall performance. Sarkodie’s declaration signalled that the Rapperholic concept, which began in Ghana, is preparing for an even bigger global spotlight.
For more than a decade, the Rapperholic concert has grown into one of Ghana’s most anticipated music events. Held annually in Accra, the show consistently brings together thousands of fans and a lineup of leading artistes. Over time, what started as a hip-hop showcase built around Sarkodie’s music has developed into a cultural platform that celebrates Ghanaian rap and African creativity.
Staging the concert at the O2 Arena represents a significant milestone. The London venue has a capacity of close to 20,000 people and has hosted some of the biggest figures in international music, including Beyoncé, Drake and Jay-Z.
Observers within the music industry say the move could mark one of the most defining international moments for Ghanaian hip-hop. Sarkodie has long been recognised for carrying the country’s rap culture onto global platforms, and the O2 Arena announcement reinforces that mission.
The planned timing also carries symbolic weight. The year 2027 coincides with Ghana’s 70th anniversary of independence, giving the concert the potential to serve not only as a music spectacle but also as a celebration of Ghanaian culture before a worldwide audience.
