Blakk Rasta Calls Mahama “An Angel Without Wings” as He Praises the President’s Leadership

Ghanaian reggae musician and broadcaster Blakk Rasta has openly commended John Dramani Mahama for the way he has conducted himself since returning to the presidency.

Speaking during a conversation with Kafui Dey, the outspoken media personality offered glowing remarks about Mahama’s character, describing him in striking terms.

“President Mahama, honestly, when I was growing up, I was told that angels had wings. This is the first time I’m seeing an angel without wings, and that’s President Mahama.

“To be honest with you, I criticised him during his first tenure. Whom haven’t I criticised? People criticise me too. And they have come to realise that I criticise them not to destroy them, but to build them,” he said.

Blakk Rasta reflected on his long-standing habit of challenging public figures, noting that criticism has always been part of his approach to national discourse. According to him, many of the people he has once spoken against eventually meet him without any lingering tension.

“No malice at all. I criticise people and later meet them, and I don’t even remember that they once passed through my hot oven of critical baking. Well, I said a lot about Mahama, and Mahama is that gentleman. He will listen. Whether he chooses to react or let it go is up to him,” he added.

The reggae artiste said his reassessment of Mahama comes after observing the president more closely during his current time in office, where he believes the leader has shown humility and restraint despite past criticism.
