“Money Was Created for Women” – Abeiku Santana’s Remark Triggers Debate

Abeiku Santana

Comments from Abeiku Santana, who serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, have stirred fresh debate around gender expectations and who should shoulder financial responsibility in relationships.

During a recent discussion on Hitz FM, he grounded his position in biblical interpretation, arguing that provision has long been assigned to men.

“If you read Genesis chapter one, after man disobeyed God, their punishment was that man would suffer,” he said.

He went further to frame this as a longstanding dynamic between men and women.

“All men suffering, women enjoy it. Money was created for women. Men work for the money, but women enjoy it.”

According to him, this financial role is not just tradition but also a pathway to harmony in relationships, suggesting that men who provide are more likely to enjoy stability.

“When you give a woman, you would have your peace of mind,” Abeiku Santana further stated.
