Comedian DKB has set off a fresh debate online after weighing in on who should carry the financial load in relationships.
During a recent discussion on Hitz FM, he pushed back against the idea of men relying on their partners for support, describing it as a shift away from what he sees as established roles.
“Women are not supposed to be the ones financing. Which man would want to allow a woman to take care of him?” he asked.
Expanding on that stance, he suggested that men who find themselves in such arrangements should accept a different position within the household.
“If you’re a man and a woman is taking care of you, you shut up. You clean the house, wash clothes, and put food in order because you’re playing the wife’s role.”
He maintained that, in his view, financial responsibility still largely falls on men, arguing that this expectation reflects what many women believe about money in relationships.
“You have to give a woman money because women’s philosophy is your money is your money is our money and my money is my money,” DKB stated.
