What began as a damaging online scandal nearly pushed influencer Ama Burland to the edge, she has revealed, as she recounted the emotional toll of viral “fake” nude images and the intervention that helped her pull through.
Speaking on Okay FM in an interview with Nana Romeo, Ama Burland reflected on the 2019 controversy and credited broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah with stepping in at a critical moment.
She explained that at the height of the backlash, Nana Aba did not hesitate to stand beside her, focusing less on the authenticity of the video and more on her wellbeing.
“When the 2019 incident happened, Nana Aba called me. It was my first time being involved in a scandal, and I was overwhelmed to the point of considering ending my life. But she was ready to do everything for me. She called me and spent the whole day with me.
“She wasn’t even concerned about whether I was the one in the video or not… all she cared about was that I stayed alive,” she said.
Looking back, Ama Burland described Nana Aba’s support as a turning point, adding that the experience left a lasting impression on both her personal life and career.
“I would do anything for Nana Aba Anamoah for free because she has been very pivotal in my career… I would never charge her for anything,” she stated.
