Controversy over the final resting place of highlife musician Daddy Lumba has resurfaced, this time with a family member pushing back against calls for his remains to be moved.
His younger sister, Faustina Fosu, has publicly addressed the matter in a TikTok video, insisting that the late musician had expressed a desire to be buried at his East Legon residence.
She noted that she is not in support of suggestions that his body should be exhumed, adding that the situation should be left undisturbed to avoid further complications.
“It was my brother’s wish to be buried there. I don’t want any issues concerning a dead person, so if he made that request and it has been honoured, I see no reason why anyone should go and dig up his body.
“I don’t know what might happen if we exhume his remains. So, I would suggest that if he has a resting place, we should allow him to rest in peace,” she said.
Faustina, however, made it clear that her position is based on what she has been told rather than direct knowledge of the contents of the will. She said she did not personally witness any reading of the document that allegedly contained the instruction.
She explained that the information came through the late singer’s legal representatives, who reportedly conveyed his burial preference to the family.
“I heard that he wanted to be buried at his residence. His lawyers were the ones who told us, but I did not witness them reading the will,” Faustina Fosu added.
