Feli Nuna Reveals Disturbing Experiences That Forced Her to Step Away From Music

Feli Nuna has talked about the hidden pressures she says many women in Ghana’s entertainment space are forced to navigate, detailing encounters that left her shaken and pushed her to step away from the spotlight.

In a candid sit-down with 3Music TV, the singer revisited a troubling episode from 2022 during a promotional run for her single ‘BumBum’. According to her, what was meant to be a routine media appearance at an Accra-based outlet took an uncomfortable turn.

“I got sexually harassed when I went to one of the media houses in Accra for promotional engagements for my BumBum single. Someone I knew sexually harassed me,” she said.

Beyond that incident, she described a wider pattern within the industry that, in her view, reduces female artistes to objects rather than recognising their craft.

“I wasn’t valued for my skills and efforts. It was more about what they could achieve from me sexually,” she stated.

Feli Nuna also pointed to another encounter from the same year while promoting her track ‘Towel’, where a tense exchange with some key figures in the industry left a lasting impression.

“I had an altercation when I was promoting ‘Towel’ in 2022. I had three gatekeepers who told me it was okay to sleep with your female artiste because she’s a woman,” she disclosed.

Feli Nuna explained that these back-to-back experiences took a toll, ultimately leading her to pause her career for a period. The break, she noted, became necessary for her to process what had happened and regain clarity before returning to music.
