Kofi Owusu Aduonum is stepping into the public space for the first time since speculation about his marriage to Afua Asantewaa began to swirl, but he is choosing restraint over revelation.
Speaking in a phone interview on United Showbiz, Aduonum appealed to the public to shift focus away from the couple’s private life and instead offer support through prayer.
He made it clear that, like any relationship, theirs has faced challenges, but he has no intention of unpacking those moments in the public domain.
“I will plead with you that we should put all our arsenals down… I wouldn’t want to be the topic of discussion, so the only thing I would request from Ghanaians for now is prayers. We have children, and I don’t want them to come across these things on social media,” he said.
Rather than fuel ongoing chatter, Aduonum stressed that steps have already been taken behind closed doors to address the situation. He indicated that both he and Asantewaa have had direct conversations and moved past the issues that sparked the public interest.
“I can state with authority that everything has been resolved. We have met in person, so there are no issues between us. All we are asking from Ghanaians is prayers,” Kofi Owusu added.
