“He Brought Me to Social Media” – Papi Adabraka on Shatta Wale Support

Papi of 5five fame

Ghanaian musician Papi Adabraka says a turning point in both his music career and public visibility came after guidance from dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale.

In an interview on 3Music, he reflected on how limited his presence in the industry had become at a point, noting that without social media exposure, people could easily have drawn the wrong conclusions about his status.

He explained that his profile changed after he worked with Shatta Wale on a track. Before the song was released, Shatta Wale reportedly urged him to embrace social media as a serious promotional tool, with a particular focus on TikTok.

According to him, Shatta Wale personally reached out and pushed him to go live on TikTok as a way of reconnecting with audiences and rebuilding his fanbase.

“Shatta Wale brought me to social media. We did a song one time and we were supposed to promote it. He called one day and he like ‘you see this song we Dey come release, the platform Dey there, TikTok, come live make I support you, make you build your fan base. I go let my SM people support you’. That be how it started,” he recounted.

Following that push, Papi said he began hosting TikTok live sessions, where Shatta Wale eventually joined in and used his influence to encourage members of his SM fanbase to follow and support him.

He noted that the impact was immediate, as his visibility and engagement online grew significantly after that moment of endorsement.

“Sometimes adey go live Shatta sef it over am,” Papi added.

He further expressed gratitude to the “On God” hitmaker, saying the support and direction came at a crucial stage and has continued to shape how he connects with fans today.
