Questions continue to swirl within the family of late Ghanaian cleric and inventor Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, as one relative claims several family members still have no idea where his body is being kept.
Speaking during an interview on Adom FM, the relative accused some members of the family of keeping the location of the late founder’s remains a secret, a situation he said has left many relatives distressed and confused.
“We, the family members, don’t know where our royal’s body is. We know he has seven children, but the other six don’t know where their father’s body is,” he alleged.
According to the family member, attempts to get answers were unsuccessful after the deceased’s first child, Adjoa, reportedly informed them that the body had been placed in what she described as a “special place.”
He further claimed that even access to the remains is allegedly restricted and subject to approval from the leadership of the institution handling arrangements for the late cleric.
“When we came asking questions about where the body is kept, Adwoa, who’s the first child, told us that the father’s body is kept at a special place. Even she herself, if she wants to go see the body, unless the president approves of it,” he stated.
The relative said the family was unhappy with the explanation but deliberately avoided escalating tensions in order to preserve peace among themselves.
“We were not satisfied with what she said, but since we didn’t want to bring chaos into the family, we decided to be mute. As of now, we still don’t know where he’s kept,” he shared.
He also claimed the situation has become even more painful because Apostle Safo Kantanka had allegedly made clear instructions about what should happen after his death.
“One thing that hurt us the most is that, before the man’s demise, he said we shouldn’t keep him for long when he dies. We shouldn’t even use the knife on him,” he noted.
The family member added that they remain uncertain whether those wishes were honoured.
“We also don’t know if they’ve used knife on him or not,” he further stated.
