Obinim Names Who Should Organize His Funeral, Excludes Wife and Family from the Plans

Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife Florence Obinim

Bishop Daniel Obinim has revealed detailed instructions for his funeral, making it clear who should and should not oversee his final rites when he dies.

Speaking before members of his church, the founder of the International God’s Way Church said responsibility for his burial should rest solely with his biological children and members of his congregation, whom he referred to as the Abroso Family.

In a video that has since circulated online, Obinim stated that neither his wife, Florence Obinim, nor other relatives should take charge of any aspect of the arrangements.

“Let this June 4, 2026, video be on record. When I die, only my biological children and the Abroso Family (his church congregants) should bury me. I have excluded my family, including my wife, Florence Obinim. Do you know how marriage is? Never place your expectations on marriage,” he said.

The outspoken preacher also issued a direct warning to members of his family against attempting to take control of funeral plans after his death.

While he said relatives would be welcome to attend, he stressed that their role should end there and that decisions regarding the ceremony should be left entirely to those he had designated.

“I am telling you today that the day I die, no member of the Obinim family should come close to my funeral. Don’t come and fight over dates. You may attend, but don’t come and do what you like.

“The only people who can fix my funeral dates and make arrangements are my biological family and the Abroso Family. If I die before my wife, she should not be part of the funeral arrangements,” Bishop Obinim stated.
