Ghanaian rapper Joey B has opened up about a fallout with D-Black, revealing that an undisclosed incident significantly altered the way he sees their relationship.
Speaking during an interview on 3Music, the rapper admitted that a recent development involving D-Black left him deeply disappointed. Although he declined to disclose the details, Joey B hinted that the issue stemmed from a matter related to music.
The revelation suggests a noticeable shift in what was once a close bond between the two artistes. According to Joey B, their relationship has since cooled, with their interactions now limited to simple exchanges whenever they meet.
“D-Black did something recently that made me lose some respect for him. I can’t even say it, but I still love him. Our relationship now is more like just cordial. When we see each other, we just exchange pleasantries,” he said.
While the experience affected his perception of D-Black, Joey B maintained that there is no lingering animosity between them. He expressed confidence that D-Black understands exactly what transpired and why it had such an impact on him.
Reflecting on the situation, the rapper said he has chosen to embrace forgiveness and move forward, despite the disappointment he felt at the time.
“I know he definitely knows why, but it’s all good. Something happened between both of us and it’s music-related. I respect him regardless and I’ve also understood what forgiveness is, so I’ve moved past that,” he stated.
Though he considers the matter behind him, Joey B stressed the importance of accountability, noting that people should be conscious of the effect their actions can have on others.
“I’m saying he’s aware of what he did because he’s a human and when you hurt someone, you should know,” he further stated.
