Victor Kofi Owusu, well known as Abusuapanyin Tupac, says his involvement in the affairs of Daddy Lumba‘s family has nothing to do with the late highlife musician’s wealth but everything to do with restoring harmony.
The man who identifies himself as the Ekuona family head, a position that has become the subject of a dispute, insists he has no interest in inheriting or controlling any of Daddy Lumba’s properties. Instead, he wants the late musician’s wives, children and relatives to put aside their differences and work together to safeguard the legacy he left behind.
Speaking in an interview with veteran musician Slimbuster, Abusuapanyin Tupac said the persistent divisions within the family have made it increasingly difficult to interact freely with all of Daddy Lumba’s children.
According to him, the tension has created an atmosphere where some family members distance themselves whenever he is seen engaging with others, making reconciliation even more challenging.
“I don’t want anything; all I want is peace. I want everyone to come together so that we can support the women and children. I want all the children to be united. Because of what is happening, I’m unable to meet with all the children because if I meet with one, the next person will avoid me. I’m pleading with everyone to cease fire, come together and let’s find a way forward,” he stated.
Abusuapayin Owusu maintained that his efforts are focused solely on reuniting the family so they can collectively care for Daddy Lumba’s children, manage his estate responsibly and preserve the legendary musician’s legacy.
“It is not because of Daddy Lumba’s money that I am actively playing the role of a family head. My only aim is to ensure that his children and wives are united so they can properly manage his properties and preserve his legacy,” he noted.
Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra, after a short illness. He was 60 years old.
The celebrated highlife musician was buried on December 13, 2025, after an Accra High Court dismissed an injunction that had delayed his funeral.
In the months following his death, disagreements have continued to surface within the family, with disputes centring on his marriages, his children and the management of his estate.
