Akosua Brempomaa, the sister of late Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has publicly voiced her heartbreak and disappointment over what she says was her niece Denise Ama Saah Fosuh’s failure to inform her about the musician’s death.
Speaking in an emotional video that has been widely shared on social media, Akosua revealed that Daddy Lumba had personally instructed Denise to contact her immediately if anything ever happened to him. She said that expectation was never fulfilled.
“I am very disappointed in Denise, that daughter of mine, because she was the one her father told to contact me if anything happens, and I should also contact her if anything happens, but she didn’t,” Akosua said.
As she spoke, Akosua struggled to contain her emotions. Visibly shaken and in tears, she paused repeatedly, unable to continue her remarks as grief overwhelmed her.
Relatives standing nearby eventually intervened and appealed to journalists to end the interview, explaining that she was in no condition to speak further.
The video has generated widespread discussion online, with many Ghanaians offering messages of sympathy to Akosua Brempomaa as the nation continues to mourn the passing of Daddy Lumba.
