Nana Ama McBrown has singled out Shatta Wale for special praise after the dancehall star used his social media platforms to drum up support for her latest movie, Ama.
The actress and television personality said she was pleasantly surprised to see Shatta Wale publicly championing the film around its premiere, particularly after his posts on X and Facebook began attracting attention.
For McBrown, the gesture went beyond publicity. She said it reflected the respect and affection that have characterised their relationship over the years.
“I really want to appreciate Shatta because when the Ama premiere came, I was there and I saw that he had tweeted on X and Facebook, and it was trending. I have known for a long time that Shatta loves me a lot and respects me, so I was very happy when I saw it. Yeah, I was very happy about it,” she said.
McBrown’s comments point to a relationship in Ghana’s entertainment industry that is built not only on friendship but also on showing up for one another when it matters.
She said the support would not be one-sided, stressing that she would readily return the favour whenever Shatta Wale calls on her for any of his own projects.
“He knows whenever he needs me for whatever he’s doing, I will go and support him too,” the famous actress added.
Shatta Wale was one of the prominent personalities who publicly promoted Ama before its premiere, helping push the film into wider social media conversations.
His intervention came as McBrown and her team stepped up publicity for the movie, giving the project an additional boost from one of Ghana’s most influential music figures.
