‘No Amount of Persuasion Can Convince Me’ – Nana Ama McBrown Rules Out Politics

Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has ruled out any possibility of entering politics, saying she has no interest in trading her current career for a political path.

McBrown made her position clear during an interview with media personality MC Portfolio on Kumasi-based Angel FM, where she explained that she is satisfied with the place she has attained in her career and does not want political affiliation to alter the public affection she enjoys.

The actress said associating herself with a political party could eventually affect the relationship she has built with Ghanaians, particularly because political careers and affiliations can change over time.

According to McBrown, she believes her current position in the entertainment industry gives her the stability and longevity she desires. She therefore sees no reason to venture into an area that could potentially divide the goodwill she has accumulated over the years.

“Never in my life would I get into politics. No amount of persuasion can convince me to get into politics. I believe that the position I am in now, if I take good care of myself, is everlasting, till the kingdom comes. Where I have reached, if I should get involved in politics and associate with a political party, after 8 to 12 years, it will divide my love. I just feel like this is enough for me,” McBrown said.

Rather than pursuing a political career, McBrown suggested that her attention could eventually turn to a different form of public service.

The celebrated actress said she believes one of the remaining purposes she could fulfil in life is to minister the gospel, describing such a path as something that would bring her a deep sense of fulfilment.

Her comments come days after acclaimed gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy spoke publicly about what she believes could be McBrown’s spiritual calling.

On August 20, 2026, Ohemaa Mercy disclosed that she believes the actress has been destined to minister the word of God and urged her to embrace what she described as a divine assignment.

According to the gospel musician, McBrown carries a special grace and has a calling that goes beyond her achievements in the entertainment industry.

Ohemaa Mercy also revealed that she has been praying about McBrown’s alleged calling since 2020, suggesting that the conviction has remained with her for several years.

“If you have had an encounter with Nana Ama McBrown, you will see that God uses people in different ways. She has a calling. I have prophesied to her, and she has to obey and walk in it.

“She should even chair the Women of the Altar programme. I have been praying about this from 2020 till now, and I know God will use her,” she said.

McBrown’s latest comments therefore place her future in a direction far removed from partisan politics, while her remarks about ministering the gospel appear to align, at least in part, with Ohemaa Mercy’s earlier public observations about her spiritual purpose.
