Tima Kumkum has opened up about a painful decision from her past, admitting that she married her first partner partly to make an ex-boyfriend jealous.
The media personality reflected on the choice in a video circulating on X, saying she was too young to fully understand the consequences of what she was doing at the time.
Looking back at her two failed marriages, Tima said she has endured criticism and ridicule from the public but remains convinced that her life has a greater purpose.
“Look at my life. I have been in two failed marriages. People said I don’t have a good character. People have been mocking me, but I know the God I serve, and He has a purpose for me.
“I was young and stupid. I will never make that decision I made at that time again because I was young. I am saying this to encourage people not to enter into another bad relationship just to get back at their ex,” she said.
Tima used her experience to caution young women against rushing into another marriage after the breakdown of a previous relationship.
According to her, taking time to heal is important, although she acknowledged that there is no fixed period that guarantees a relationship will succeed.
“I wanted to serve as a motivation to that young woman who wouldn’t be scared to leave her marriage without thinking it would end in failure. I waited for seven years before I got married again, but all that I have learnt is that it doesn’t matter the number of years you wait. You can even wait for 20 years; if it will end, it will, because maybe that is not the purpose of your life,” she stated.
She also spoke about the emotional toll of being publicly ridiculed over the breakdown of her marriages, stressing that outsiders cannot fully understand what she experienced privately.
Tima Kumkum revealed that she was only 20 when she met her first husband and said her decision to marry him was influenced by the actions of her boyfriend at the time.
“I was mocked on social media. They said whatever they wanted to say. I am the only one who knows what I have gone through. I was 20 years old when I met my first husband. My boyfriend at the time had cheated, and I decided to marry him as revenge against my ex-boyfriend,” she revealed.
