Stonebwoy has taken issue with media personality Berla Mundi, accusing her of creating an awkward moment during a World Cup fundraising event that, in his view, should have been handled with more tact.
He made the remarks in an interview with Saddick Adams on the Anopa Bofo morning show on Angel TV and Angel FM on Wednesday, March 2, 2026, where he revisited the incident involving himself and fellow dancehall act Shatta Wale.
According to him, an unexpected suggestion from the stage about the two artistes sharing a hug shifted the atmosphere and put them in an uncomfortable position.
“She just took it upon herself to feel happy about herself; it was not part of the plan. She placed all of us on the spot. You could see, she was asking, ‘is that possible?’” Stonebwoy argued.
He added that the timing of the request, especially in the presence of President John Dramani Mahama, made the situation even more delicate and questioned why such a proposal was introduced publicly.
“I think it’s not a question she should have even asked. What was the answer she was expecting?”
Stonebwoy further stressed that protocol and respect for authority should have been considered, describing the President as the “father of the land” and suggesting that declining such a request could easily be misread as “straight disobedience”.
