Gomoa Central MP Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus) has weighed in on the ongoing marital conversation involving Kofi Owusu Aduonum, husband of singathon participant Afua Asantewaa, urging him to keep such matters away from the public eye.
Speaking during a panel discussion on United Showbiz on April 11, 2026, A-Plus questioned the decision to bring personal relationship issues onto national television, suggesting that such disputes are best handled privately.
He argued that marriage challenges are common and do not need a public platform, especially when there are attempts at reconciliation.
“I want to ask you whether UTV personally invited you, or if you decided to come on air and talk about your problems. What I will tell you is that there are issues in every marriage.
“We are all going through challenges in our marriages, so since you claim you have resolved your differences, I would advise you to handle such matters privately. I don’t even understand your explanation,” he said.
A Plus further cautioned that sharing such personal explanations on television could leave Aduonum open to public backlash and online ridicule.
“From the way you are explaining yourself, it doesn’t make sense. You have children with her, so it is very unnecessary for you to come on TV to explain yourself. It is normal for issues to arise in every marriage.
“You have now given people the chance to mock you on the internet because many bloggers profit from such situations. Social media and television don’t love you as much as you think,” he further stated.
