Kumawood star Alexander Kofi Adu, widely known as Agya Koo, has stepped into the political arena, arriving in Accra to begin the formal registration of his newly created party while taking his campaign message directly to the public.
Videos circulating online show the veteran actor moving through parts of the capital on foot, surrounded by security personnel and supporters clad in white outfits branded with the party’s insignia.
He has named the movement the Ghana First Party, positioning it as a deliberate attempt to disrupt the long-standing dominance of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
In an interview, he outlined his ambition to build a viable alternative that can compete with the country’s two main political blocs.
“The Ghana First Movement is building support across all 16 regions, with plans to form the political party in the near future. We all know that political power has largely alternated between the two major parties.
“That is why some people believe there is a need for a third party that can improve the lives of Ghanaians,” he had said.
His latest move has caught many social media users off guard, particularly given his long-standing and vocal support for the NPP.
