“I Am Very Beautiful” – Xandy Kamel Responds to Body Shaming DM

Xandy Kamel

Ghanaian actress Xandy Kamel has pushed back firmly after a social media user took aim at her appearance, telling her to “fix her shape.”

The exchange surfaced after she checked her direct messages and found the unsolicited criticism waiting for her. Rather than react immediately, she said she took a moment to sit with it and reflect on how she now sees herself.

“I woke up this morning and found this message in my DM. I read the message over and over again. When I got up from my bed, stood in front of my mirror, looked at myself very well and I realised I’m very beautiful. I’m so pretty,” she said.

Xandy Kamel also opened up about how comments like that used to affect her mental health, recalling a period when online remarks would leave her emotionally drained and questioning her self-worth.

“A few years or months ago, whenever I saw comments like this in my DM or under my comment section, I got depressed. I cried myself to sleep and questioned whether I was not woman enough,” she stated.

She noted that time and experience have shifted her outlook, adding that even those who go through cosmetic enhancements are still not spared from online ridicule.

“But moving forward, I’ve realised that even those who do BBL are still being trolled under their comment section. They would say the BBL is smelling or their body is not evenly done. I don’t know what humans want,” she said.

The actress went further to question the mindset of persistent online critics, suggesting that satisfaction from trolls seems impossible to achieve.

“Maybe they want us to die so they would be satisfied. I don’t let these things bother me anymore,” she added.

Reinforcing her sense of self-acceptance, the Ghanaian actress stressed that physical features do not define a person’s value or mental strength.

“I’ve realised that aside from my tummy being big, I’m a beautiful woman. My tummy being big doesn’t mean my mind is corrupt. I have a mind capable of taking care of a man,” Xandy Kamel further stated.
