Stonebwoy has once again highlighted the deep bond he shares with his former mentor and godfather, Samini, insisting that no circumstance could make him turn against the veteran dancehall artiste.
The famous Ghanaian musician made the revelation during a live TikTok session where he opened up about his journey in the music industry and the role Samini played in helping him find his footing as a young artiste.
Reflecting on his beginnings, Stonebwoy recalled meeting Samini while he was still in senior high school. He said he was informed at the time that after completing his education, he would have the chance to join Samini’s team and pursue his passion for music.
According to the BHIM Nation president, Samini later welcomed him into his circle after he completed school and treated him with the care and support of a younger brother, a gesture that influenced why he continues to address the “Linda” hitmaker as his big brother.
Stonebwoy explained that his respect for Samini goes beyond their professional relationship, adding that neither disagreements nor personal differences could erase the admiration and gratitude he has for the musician who helped shape his career.
“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother.
“He is someone in my life; he cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad,” Stonebwoy said.
Stonebwoy’s connection with Samini dates back to the mid-2000s when he was a young talent seeking a breakthrough in Ghana’s competitive music industry. At the time, Samini was already one of the country’s biggest dancehall acts and became instrumental in guiding the young musician.
After their paths crossed, Stonebwoy became closely linked with Samini and spent time living at his father’s house while gaining firsthand experience about the demands of the music business and improving his skills.
He later joined Samini Music, a move that exposed him to the industry and helped him build a foundation before he eventually launched his solo career and created his own brand, BHIM Nation.
While their relationship has faced public disagreements and difficult moments over the years, both artistes have continued to recognise the influence they have had on each other’s careers and Ghana’s music landscape.
Their reunion in late 2024 and early 2025 saw the two musicians share the stage again, signalling a renewed appreciation for the relationship that helped shape Stonebwoy’s rise in the industry.
