The management team of legendary Ghanaian musician Amakye Dede has released a statement addressing a car accident involving the artiste and his crew.
The statement confirmed that the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 29, 2024, along the stretch between Apam and Winneba.
According to the management, the incident happened as Amakye Dede and his team were traveling from Takoradi—following a successful performance at the Takoradi City Mall—to Agona Swedru for another scheduled show.
The veteran musician and his team were taken to the Winneba Hospital, where they received first aid treatment.
As a result of the accident, Amakye Dede was unable to perform at a planned event in Kumasi, despite efforts to reach the venue. His management extended apologies to fans for the inconvenience caused.
“We deeply appreciate the love and prayers from fans during this time,” the statement read, adding that Amakye Dede is eager to make it up to his supporters with an unforgettable performance after his recovery.
The management concluded by expressing gratitude for the ongoing support and asked fans to stay tuned for updates.
