What John Dumelo said about his nomination as Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture

Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has responded to his nomination as Deputy Minister-Designate for Food and Agriculture.

President John Mahama nominated Dumelo on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, with the announcement made by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

Following the news, Minister for Food and Agriculture Mr Eric Opoku extended his congratulations, writing:

“Congratulations @johndumelo on your well-deserved nomination as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture! Your dedication and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of our agricultural sector. Looking forward to working together.”

In response, Dumelo expressed his gratitude and eagerness to collaborate with Mr Opoku in advancing Ghana’s agricultural sector.

“Thanks so much, Senior. Can’t wait to begin working with you to transform the agric sector. I have always admired you and your contributions. Have an amazing morning, my boss,” he wrote.

Beyond his new role, John Dumelo also serves as the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon.
