Wendy Shay Shuts Down BBL Rumors, Says Her Curves Are All Natural

Wendy Shay

Ghanaian songstress, Wendy Shay, has reacted to rumors that she enhanced her body through cosmetic surgery, calling the claims both baseless and offensive.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account on July 10, 2025, the “Ghana Boys” singer addressed growing speculation that she had undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) to achieve her curvier physique. But according to Wendy, the assumptions say more about society’s ignorance than her body.

She questioned the widespread belief that curvy African women must have turned to surgery to look the way they do, urging people to reconsider the distorted beauty narratives they’ve accepted.

“So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine? What’s with this BBL tag… Is it because I have gained at the right places?” she wrote.

Wendy clarified that her current look is the result of natural weight gain, not surgical enhancement—and criticized those quick to label her body as fake. “Y’all should get a life and stop being naive. What you are seeing is 100% natural and it is not my fault y’all didn’t realise it earlier because of the Bullying when I stepped in the game.”

Reflecting on her early days in the music industry, Wendy recalled being body-shamed and overlooked. At the time, public criticism may have obscured her natural figure, she suggested.

“I’ve got it since! Clearly, humans will always have something to say. It’s either your booty is too big, too small, or too fake. Mind your business! Africa, Wake Up!” she added.
