Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., well-known as Shatta Wale, has shared insights into what he believes attracts major corporate sponsors to artistes. He opened up about this following the massive success of ShattaFest 2025.

He revealed that beyond fame and music, it takes discipline, dedication, and consistency to earn the trust of big brands.

Speaking during a media session at MTN MobileMoney Ltd (MoMo Ghana) on Monday, October 20, 2025, Shatta Wale expressed appreciation to the telecom giant for partnering his record-breaking concert. The visit formed part of his post-event thank-you tour after ShattaFest 2025 lit up Accra’s Independence Square on October 18.

“Discipline, hard work and how we push the agenda of everything we do. To have a brand like Momo Ghana partner my ShattaFest shows that the corporate world is watching and always ready to support people like us,” he said.

The mega event, which doubled as a celebration of his 40th birthday, drew tens of thousands of fans who turned the Independence Square into a festival of music, lights, and excitement.

Describing his partnership with MTN MoMo as a “dream come true,” Shatta Wale hinted that he plans to make ShattaFest an annual event that would tour other regions and eventually go international.

“We’re all shocked, even I’m shocked about the numbers,” he said. “I believe everybody should be happy now with the turnout we had.”

He added, “I believe with a few more collaborations with MTN MoMo and other affiliations, we’ll have it every year.”

MTN MoMo CEO Shaibu Haruna, who was also present, admitted he was impressed by the magnitude of Shatta Wale’s influence.

“I had no clue the kind of following you have. I obviously knew you had a powerful following, but this weekend was extra special,” Haruna posited.
