Die-Hard Fans in Sydney Plan to Organize Daddy Lumba’s Funeral in Australia

Following Daddy Lumba’s demise, fans of the Ghanaian Highlife legend in Sydney, Australia, are preparing to commemorate his legacy with their own memorial service.

Although the official One-Week Observation and funeral arrangements are still pending in Ghana, some members of Lumba’s Australian fanbase have expressed a strong desire to honour him with a local version of the ceremony.

During an interview with ZionFelix on his recent tour of Australia, the devoted fans recounted how they first heard the news of Lumba’s death. The announcement, they said, came as a deep shock, many struggled to believe it was real.

Their emotions revealed just how much Daddy Lumba meant to them, despite the geographic distance. The late artiste’s music, they shared, had long been a soundtrack to their lives, and his influence knew no borders.

Tributes from around the world have continued to pour in following the icon’s death.

Daddy Lumba died on July 26, 2025, after a short illness at The Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra.
