One-Week Observation for Nana Konadu Yiadom III

The Asanteman Council has announced that the one-week funeral observance for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The gathering is expected to unite royals, traditional leaders, and mourners from across the Ashanti Region and beyond, following sacred Asante funeral rites.

This update, delivered during a council session at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 11, is the first official communication since her passing on August 7 at the age of 98.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III was enstooled in 2017, succeeding her late mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who died the previous year. Born in 1927 in Benyaade, Kwadaso, she was the first of five siblings. Before her royal responsibilities, she worked in catering, farming, and petty trading, carving out a life rooted in hard work and community service.
