Court Orders Immediate Reversal of No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel Takeover

No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel

The No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel is to be returned to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited after an Accra High Court ruled that its takeover last month was unlawful.

Justice John-Mark Nuku Alifo, presiding over the case on Friday, August 21, 2026, set aside the July 23 takeover carried out by Nii Amanor Dodoo and Cola Holdings Limited, holding that the action breached the rules of the Court of Appeal.

The court subsequently ordered the respondents to immediately restore possession of the hotel to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited.

As part of the order, Nii Amanor Dodoo and Cola Holdings Limited must hand over all keys, access codes, financial records, books and monies taken from the property during the takeover.

Court orders supervised handover

Justice Nuku Alifo directed that the restoration of the property be carried out under the supervision of the High Court Registrar.

The court also ordered the parties to conduct a joint inventory of the hotel, including its assets and any other items currently in the respondents’ possession.

In addition, the respondents have been given seven days to submit comprehensive financial accounts covering the period of the receivership.

The ruling reverses the July 23 takeover and places Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited back in possession of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel.

The order, however, remains subject to any further legal action that may arise from the continuing dispute over the property.
