Kofi Nti has reacted to a growing claim that Roman Fada once managed the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba.
In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Nti said the story circulating online and in interviews is inaccurate.
He explained that throughout Lumba’s career, he knew of only one person who ever filled a managerial role. For Nti, attempts to present Roman Fada as Lumba’s manager distort the facts.
“No one has managed Lumba apart from Mr. Brenya. Lumba is too big to be managed by Roman Fada, and he knows that. But because people are saying he is Lumba’s manager, he has accepted it,” he said.
Nti went on to reflect on his own relationship with Lumba, recalling how the Highlife icon regularly opened doors for him. He credited Lumba for helping shape his stagecraft and giving him opportunities that elevated his career.
“Lumba mostly invited me to perform at many big shows. Sometimes, he would allow me to be in charge of some of the events. After my performance, he would tell me I didn’t charge a bigger amount and that I should have allowed him to handle the negotiations.
“It was always a privilege to work with him because he barely shared a microphone with people. Apart from Nana Acheampong, Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu, and recently Sarkodie, he didn’t share the same stage with many artistes. He took me in as a son, and I was always happy working with him,” he added.
Nti maintained that Lumba’s mentorship was one of the most defining parts of his journey, stressing that the legend’s generosity and trust left a lasting mark on his career.
