A calm Sunday turned into a frightening ordeal for Hiplife artiste Reggie Rockstone, who is now setting the record straight about a fire that recently broke out at one of his kitchens.
He revealed that the incident stemmed from a preventable mistake rather than the dramatic rumours circulating online.
Speaking on Joy Prime on November 19, 2025, Reggie said the blaze started when food was left unattended on the stove after the person frying plantain dozed off.
“There were all kinds of rumours of how my place caught fire and what happened. It was human error.
“Someone was frying plantain, and the person went to sleep. She left the plantain on the fire and she slept off. Human error can happen to anybody,” he said.
He recounted how a young girl at the scene acted quickly, stopping the flames from spreading and averting a potential disaster.
“It’s a young sister who saved the situation, we would have been arranging for a funeral. It was from my kitchen. We have a main place we cook from that’s in Achimota. It wasn’t even on a busy day,” he stated.
The musician described the moment he learned about the fire, saying he received the unexpected call while relaxing at home with his wife.
“It has to be one of the most traumatic things that I’ve experienced. It happened on a calm Sunday when my wife and I were home. My phone rang and they told me the place was on fire,” Reggie Rockstone further stated.
