Fire Destroys Reggie Rockstone’s Rockz Waakye Outlet in Accra, Music Legend Grateful No Lives Were Lost

A fire gutted Reggie Rockstone’s Rockz Waakye in Accra, destroying the entire outlet. The hiplife icon is grateful no lives were lost in the blaze.

A devastating fire ripped through the flagship location of Rockz Waakye, owned by hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone, on the night of Sunday, August 3, 2025, reducing the once-thriving eatery to ashes.

The blaze engulfed the popular waakye joint situated within the Accra Tourist Information Centre. Eyewitness reports indicate the fire erupted late in the evening and spread rapidly, leaving little time to salvage the property.

Despite the swift arrival of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire completely consumed the structure and all its contents.

In a video shared online hours after the fire, a visibly emotional Reggie Rockstone thanked Ghanaians for their overwhelming support and kind messages.

He praised the professionalism of the fire service team, whose quick response helped contain the fire from spreading beyond the restaurant.

Reggie shared a message of hope amid the ruins, stating, “The only great news is that no human life was lost,” and offered his gratitude to God for sparing lives during the ordeal.
