Media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has weighed in on the public fallout surrounding the collapsed marriage of Guinness World Record singathon contender Afua Asantewaa and Kofi Owusu Aduonum, focusing on how the situation has been handled in the public space.
During a panel discussion on United Showbiz aired on April 4, 2026, she questioned Afua Asantewaa’s decision to take deeply personal matters onto social media, arguing that such exposure only fuels public consumption.
In her view, the singathon contender crossed a line by opening up about the breakdown of her marriage online, insisting that no public figure is obligated to explain the details of their relationship to the public.
“Going through a divorce isn’t an easy thing. I sympathise with Afua and Kofi Aduonum that a beautiful marriage with three children would have to end in a public spectacle.
“Because she is a public figure, she could, at the right time, inform the public that she is no longer with her husband, but she doesn’t owe anyone any explanation,” she said.
Turning to Afua Asantewaa’s recent press statement, where she appealed for privacy as the divorce process unfolds, MC Yaa Yeboah argued that the appeal may come too late given how much had already been shared.
“We will not respect any boundaries because you gave us undeniable access to your marital home on a silver platter.
