Shatta Wale has opened up about what he describes as a strange roadside encounter that has since reshaped his outlook on how he treats people.
The dancehall artiste, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, shared the story during a TikTok live session, saying it happened one night while he was heading to see his father. According to him, the moment unfolded at a traffic junction where he had stopped and was waiting for the signal to change.
He recalled that while seated in traffic, he suddenly heard a voice and turned to find a woman who appeared to be mentally unstable standing nearby. Curious and concerned, he asked if she was alright.
The response he received surprised him. The woman spoke calmly and said, “Do not be afraid, our support is with you in everything you do.”
Shatta Wale said the exchange moved him enough to reach into his bag, pull out GH¢500, and offer it to her. But the woman reportedly refused the money and insisted she was not there for financial help.
She told him, “I didn’t come here for your money. I only came to deliver a message to you.”
He added that by the time the traffic light changed and he turned his attention back, the woman had vanished without a trace, leaving him unsettled by how quickly she disappeared.
Reflecting on the incident, Shatta Wale said it has influenced how he now perceives and interacts with people, regardless of their appearance or background.
“I feel God has a way of directing me, which is why I’ve told myself I will never discriminate against anyone in my life again. God once told me I had disrespected one of His children, though I don’t know which of His children it was. That was why He made me go through that 10 years of exile during my Bandana days,” Shatta Wale stated.
