Kelvyn Boy has revisited the fallout that severed his ties with Stonebwoy, making it clear the relationship has remained strained since their split in 2019.
In a recent interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime, the Afrobeats singer reflected on his time under Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group and how public perception of him began to shift. According to him, stories branding him as difficult took hold early and lingered, shaping how people treated him within the camp.
“Some people had this idea that I was a troublesome person or a stubborn person. They spread those rumours, and it affected how others saw me. Even when I was in Stonebwoy’s camp, those rumours continued,” he said.
He pointed to misunderstanding and personal dislike as the root of those claims, stressing that he has since chosen not to dwell on them.
“It was from people who didn’t understand me or like me. But I don’t really care like that. It is all with God. If God says yes, no one can say no,” he said.
When the issue of where things stand between him and Stonebwoy came up, Kelvyn Boy did not suggest any improvement.
“It’s been a long time since that time… How are we going to vibe?” he said.
He also ruled out making the first move to mend things, indicating he sees no reason to push for a reunion.
“I am not like that. I don’t even know how to go about all of this, and I don’t want anything to happen. I don’t think there is a need to,” he said.
Even so, he insisted there is no bitterness on his end, describing his feelings toward his former mentor as sincere.
“I love him from my heart. It was out of love that all this came. So let’s just leave it to God, because going back and forth with it is not necessary,” Kelvyn Boy stated.
