Olivetheboy’s Father Accuses Okraku-Mantey of Humiliating Him Over Music Demo

The father of Ghanaian singer Olivetheboy has levelled a serious allegation against former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey, over an encounter he says left him humiliated and emotionally shaken.

Speaking in a video posted on X, he revisited what he described as a discouraging moment from his early attempts to break into the music scene. He claims he had recorded a demo and, on the advice of an uncle, personally delivered it to Okraku-Mantey’s office at Circle for consideration.

According to him, the meeting did not go as hoped. He alleges that after the music was played, Okraku-Mantey removed the CD from the player and discarded it in his presence.

“I don’t think Mark Okraku-Mantey will remember this. I recorded a demo, and my uncle advised me to submit it to him. So, I took the CD to his office at Circle.

“After listening to the CD, he removed it from the player and threw it away,” he claimed.

He said the moment left him deeply hurt and affected his mood for the rest of the day, adding that the experience still lingers in his memory.

“After he threw away the CD, I became very sad. It really affected me that day. I don’t think he would even recognise me now,” Olivetheboy’s father further stated.
