“Not Even My Parents Can Convince Me” – Obinim Opens Up on Decision to Leave Home

Bishop Daniel Obinim

Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church, has made it clear that he has no plans of returning to his matrimonial home, even after one of his children appealed to him to come back and help resolve issues within the family.

The preacher revealed during a church service that shortly after leaving the family residence, he received a voice note from his son, Gifted, who raised concerns about the actions of his brother, Promise.

According to Bishop Obinim, Gifted reached out to him after an incident involving a G-Wagon vehicle he had left at home for the family’s use. In the message, Gifted claimed that Promise took the vehicle out late at night without permission and later crashed it.

The child then pleaded with his father to return home, saying he was unable to handle the situation and that their mother, gospel musician Florence Obinim, was also struggling to control Promise.

Bishop Obinim played the voice note during the service, allowing members of the church to hear the appeal directly.

“Daddy, please, I’m your son. You told me not to tell you anything about Promise but, look, I was asleep and Promise went to take the car and went out in the night and crashed it. Daddy, please do something about it because I can’t do anything. Please come back home; you need to control Promise, please,” Gifted was heard saying in the voice note played by Bishop Obinim.

After the message was played, the pastor asked his congregation whether they believed he should return to his family home.

However, one church member expressed fears about the possibility of him going back, suggesting that some family members could turn against him and put him in danger.

Other members of the congregation also encouraged Bishop Obinim to reconsider his decision, but he insisted that he would not return to the matrimonial home. He stressed that even his own parents, whom he respects, would not be able to persuade him to go back.

“They already said I’ve left home, and I confirm it’s true. I have left. I wouldn’t go back, and not even my parents, whom I respect deeply, can ask me to return and expect me to obey. My life matters to me,” Obinim said.

His latest comments come amid an ongoing public dispute between him and his wife, Florence Obinim, which has attracted significant attention in recent weeks.

The disagreement reportedly started after Bishop Obinim accused his wife of changing due to her association with certain people he did not approve of.

He later disclosed that he had moved out of the family house and secured a new luxury residence at Trasacco as he dealt with the challenges in his marriage.

Florence Obinim responded by stating that if her husband wanted a divorce, he was free to take that step.

Despite the emotional appeal from his son, Bishop Obinim has maintained his position that he will remain away from the family residence.
