Bishop Obinim denies cheating claims, insists no affair since 2017

The Founder and Leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has pushed back against recent claims about his private life, insisting that his marriage has remained free of infidelity since 2017.

Addressing his congregation on June 30, 2026, the outspoken preacher, who has recently been in the spotlight over tensions in his marriage to gospel singer Florence Obinim, acknowledged that his past included relationships with multiple girlfriends during his more than 20 years of marriage. However, he stressed that those chapters ended years ago and have not continued into recent times.

Bishop Obinim maintained that since 2017, he has not been involved with any other woman outside his marriage, adding that no individual anywhere can legitimately claim otherwise.

“I have said that even if I had affairs and multiple girlfriends, all of that ended in 2017. There is no woman in Ghana, or anywhere else in the world, who can come forward and say that from 2017 to now, 2026, I have had a sexual encounter with her,” Obinim said.

He also used the sermon to dismiss ongoing speculation about children allegedly born outside his marriage, describing the claims as unfounded.

According to him, he is the father of only four children, two sons and two daughters, whom he named as Dr Grace, Gifted Obinim, Promise Obinim, and Angel Obinim. He insisted that these are his only biological children and rejected suggestions of any others.

“I have only four children. I don’t have a child anywhere else. So if you hear someone saying that Obinim has a child somewhere, let the person keep talking. When they get tired, they will stop,” he said.

Turning to the broader controversy surrounding his marriage, which has played out publicly on social media in recent weeks, Bishop Obinim said he has chosen to step away from the dispute following what he described as spiritual direction.

The church leader, who had previously released videos addressing his estranged wife, Florence Obinim, stated that he believes he has received instruction from the Holy Spirit to end the public commentary.

He added that he has since taken down all related videos and no longer intends to speak publicly about his marital issues, signalling a deliberate move to close the chapter on the controversy.
