Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown, better known as Akuapem Poloo, has shared her perspective on marriage, revealing that she hopes to build a lasting relationship similar to that of veteran Kumawood actress Kyeiwaa.
The actress said she is ready to settle down but believes marriage should happen at the right moment rather than being driven by pressure from society. For Akuapem Poloo, finding the right partner matters more than rushing into a union that may not stand the test of time.
Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM, she explained that while she is prepared for marriage, she is trusting God’s timing and does not want to force the process.
“I never want to go through a divorce after getting married. One of my biggest prayers to God is that, at the age I am now, if I get the opportunity to marry, I will. But I’m not forcing it. Whenever the right time comes, I’ll be okay with it,” she said.
Akuapem Poloo pointed to Kyeiwaa’s marriage as an example that love and companionship are not limited by age. She said the veteran actress’ decision to marry later in life has encouraged her to remain patient in her own search for a life partner.
According to her, Kyeiwaa’s experience shows that marriage is about meeting the right person at the right time, rather than following a timeline created by society.
“I see the legendary Kyeiwaa as an inspiration. She got married later in life after living her life, and that shows marriage isn’t about age. If God has destined someone to be your partner, it doesn’t matter how old you are, even if you’ve lost your teeth because of old age. When the time is right, it will happen,” she stated.
The actress added that entering marriage with greater maturity can help individuals better understand the responsibilities that come with building a home. She believes emotional growth, financial stability and life experience can play important roles in sustaining a relationship.
Akuapem Poloo stressed that although marriage remains a goal for many women, it should not become a decision made out of fear or pressure.
She explained that she is still open to marriage whenever the right opportunity arrives, adding that the challenges she has faced have helped shape her into a stronger person.
“If the opportunity comes now, I will get married because I know I am mature enough. Looking at everything I have been through, I have been able to hold myself together. Have you ever seen me bring my personal issues to social media before? That doesn’t mean I’m not going through anything. I’m facing a lot in my relationships,” Poloo further stated.
Akuapem Poloo said she has learned to keep her personal struggles away from public attention and believes patience remains essential in finding a partner who aligns with her future.
