Ghanaian musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, was overcome with emotion on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as he paid his final respects to his late wife, actress Beverly Afaglo.
Choirmaster, accompanied by their two daughters, walked towards Beverly’s casket at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, where her final funeral rites are being held.
The solemn procession quickly turned emotional as the musician struggled to contain his tears. He eventually broke down, visibly shaken by the loss of his wife and the mother of their two children.
The moment captured the weight of a loss that has left the family and many of Beverly’s colleagues and admirers mourning.
Beverly Afaglo died on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42, just four days before her 43rd birthday. She was survived by Choirmaster and their two daughters.
In announcing her death, Choirmaster paid an emotional tribute to his wife, describing Beverly as his “strength” and “happiness.”
Beverly built a career spanning more than two decades in Ghana’s film industry and became recognised for her performances in movies such as ‘Return of Beyonce’, ‘Crime to Christ’, ‘Girls Connection’, ‘Never Again’, and ‘Single Six’.
Her final funeral rites have brought together family members, friends, colleagues and mourners to honour her life and career.
The funeral proceedings will continue with a thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Action Chapel International.
