Gospel singer Selina Boateng has broken her silence on her marital status, confirming that her six-year marriage to Isaac Berchie has officially come to an end.
Speaking on Okay FM’s drive-time show with Nana Romeo, the award-winning artiste responded with an unreserved “yes” when asked if the rumours of her divorce were true.
Selina said she feels no shame about her current situation and is grateful she has faced no societal stigma since the separation. While she kept the reasons for the split private, she used the moment to share advice with young people preparing for marriage.
She encouraged them to take time to deeply understand their partners before saying “I do,” cautioning against letting family, friends, or societal pressure dictate such a life-changing decision. “That era is over,” she stressed.
The former couple exchanged vows on December 7, 2019, in a vibrant ceremony at the Church of Pentecost Magazine Maakro Central in Kumasi, surrounded by relatives, friends, and fellow gospel musicians.
